Sustainability is the factor which stands out when we talk about this venue for the London Olympics. It is located in the north of the Olympic Park and has some unique features associated with it. On the same lines, the ventilation system has been designed in such a manner that there is no need for air conditioning.

Emphasizing the importance of environment protection and sustainability a lot of thought process was done to come up with the final design for this venue. Sourcing of materials used during the construction has also been done in such a way that it provides enhancement to the importance of sustainability.

The architecture of this venue has been done in such a way that it allows abundance of natural light to enter and hence reduces its dependence on the artificial light, giving a lot of weight to the sustainability factor. The overall capacity for this venue is 6,000 and it has been constructed in such a manner that it will allow the spectators to have a 360 degree view of the Olympic Park.

The construction process for this venue began in 2009 and it was completed in February 2011. It was the first sporting venue which was ready for the 2012 Olympics.
